Volkswagen T4 Transporter Cockburn Holdsworth Vista Camper Model History
Circa 1996 Richard Holdsworth Conversions ran into financial difficulties and was taken over by John Cockburn. The new company now called Cockburn Holdsworth released a new version of the VW T4 Holdsworth Vista called the VW T4 Cockburn Holdsworth Vista Camper. It was similar in design to the earlier VW T4 Holdsworth Vista but with updated upholstery and improved design and specification. The interior had central living / bed area and rear kitchen as well as a rear bathroom area with cassette toilet and fold out wash basin. The exterior decals were updated. Whereas the earlier Holdsworth Vista was only available in hightop form the Cockburn Holdsworth was available with either a high top roof, a solid sided elevating roof and a new option called the low line pop top roof. I don’t have much information about these models yet but from what I can see the VW T4 Cockburn Holdsworth Vistas used Reimo roofs. Some models seem to use the same upholstery materials / roofs as the earlier Holdsworth Vista but with Cockburn Holdsworth decals so I guess there was a change over period between old and new model. Production appears to have stopped circa 1997 so they were only produced for a short period.
